I saw a very special tree while riding on a new trail at The Riding Center with my horse, Aztec, and some of other riding buddies. It had a bunch of knots of all sizes and shapes. The word gnarly was used to describe it.

I stopped to admire it and was awe struck. I do not know much about the history of the area in which my group was riding. But this tree impressed me as something which lived through much history.
